New lines, large motors and temperature-control equipment consume the available standby margin, while their starting demand may exceed existing-system capability.
Protection and Distribution Boundaries Must Be Recalculated
Without reviewing low-voltage switchboards, breakers, cables, ATS equipment and paralleling controls, a fault can cause trips or overloads.
Maintenance Windows and Spare-Parts Requirements Change
As output increases, shutdown windows shorten, and existing spare parts and procedures may not support the new recovery target.

When an On-Site Inspection Is Required
These Conditions Require On-Site Inspection, Not Remote Observation Alone
- Trips, starting failures, high load percentage or generator high-temperature alarms appear after expansion.
- After new equipment is connected, distribution boundaries, protection settings or the paralleling strategy are unclear.
- The shutdown window has shortened and the former maintenance plan cannot meet the critical-line recovery target.

Preventive Checks
- During expansion design, review standby capacity, starting demand and critical-load priorities at the same time.
- Before commissioning new equipment, perform a loaded transfer test to confirm existing-system capability.
- Update spare parts, the maintenance plan, fuel runtime and the emergency recovery procedure.
Maintenance Routine
- After adding a line or equipment, update the load list, distribution diagram and recovery sequence.
- During inspections, track increasing load, temperature changes, alarm frequency and protection operation.
- Before the first production peak after expansion, perform a focused inspection and risk review.
Engineering Recommendation
After-sales risk does not rise because the existing generator suddenly became worse; the operating condition has changed. Reviewing the new loads and installed system together prevents limitations from appearing only during a failure.
