Professional Records Should Support Fault Prediction and Review

Record baseline condition: runtime, oil level, battery voltage, coolant, oil pressure, temperature, voltage, frequency, load and alarms.

Record the test process: start time, ATS transfer time, critical-load recovery, abnormal sounds or smells and operating stability.

When an On-Site Inspection Is Required
These Conditions Require On-Site Inspection, Not Remote Observation Alone
- Records show repeated alarms, increasing start time, rising temperature or continuing battery deterioration.
- Test records do not demonstrate ATS transfer and critical-load recovery, while the facility has a demanding recovery requirement.
- No root cause was recorded after service and the same abnormal condition continues to return.

To Find Problems Before an Outage, Every Inspection Must Be Recorded and Reviewable
Preventive Checks
- Use consistent inspection fields; do not replace key readings with the single word “normal.”
- Create follow-up items for repeated alarms, rising temperature, battery deterioration and transfer delay.
- Store records where both engineers and site operators can access them so the history is not lost.
Maintenance Routine
- For every test, record at least starting, operation, transfer, load and alarm status.
- For every maintenance visit, record consumables, part numbers, adjustments and the next service window.
- After fault recovery, turn the review findings into checks for the next inspection.
