Cold rooms, medicine refrigerators, blood storage and sample storage may be supplied by different circuits. Even with the generator running, delayed circuit pickup, load limits or insufficient runtime can continue to increase temperature risk.

- A cold-chain circuit trips, distribution status is unclear or equipment power cannot be confirmed remotely.

Preventive Checks
- Include medicines, vaccines, blood and samples in the critical-load list.
- Periodically verify that cold-chain circuits recover in priority order after generator transfer.
- Define available runtime, the refueling trigger point and a prolonged-outage strategy.
Maintenance Routine
- Record cold-chain circuits, temperature alarms, fuel level, load percentage and operating hours during each inspection.
- During an outage, track both the temperature curve and fuel consumption instead of relying only on generator status.
- After each cold-chain alarm, review power-recovery time and the response to temperature risk.

Cold-chain support must treat preservation risk and power recovery as one problem. Protect the temperature window first, then verify generation, distribution and fuel runtime to reduce the risk of loss.
