Site Issue: Product Risk Depends on Time Outside Temperature Control, Not Simply Whether Equipment Restarts
Cold-chain loads include compressors, fans, controllers and defrost equipment. Priorities must reflect insulation, allowable temperature rise, compressor starting and refueling conditions.
Gaps in temperature records complicate quality release and traceability. Simultaneous compressor restart can cause voltage drop or protective trips. A nameplate fuel-tank volume that is not checked against actual load and refueling access may leave the site without fuel during a long outage.
Configuration Review: Verify Critical Loads, Starting Methods and the Complete Control Chain
A livestock project cannot be assessed by total kVA alone. Actual transfer capability depends on allowable interruption, simultaneous-operation relationships and automatic recovery conditions after an outage.
- Confirm allowable temperature rise and maximum interruption time.
- Verify compressor starting and defrost controls.
- Stage load pickup by cold-chain criticality.
- Calculate fuel use, runtime and refueling access from the actual load.
Why This Design: Recovery Priorities Matter More Than Simply Increasing Generator Capacity
Restore immediately: critical cold rooms, milk cooling, temperature records and alarms. Stage next: auxiliary cold rooms, egg storage, feed and essential primary processing. Delay: general packaging, offices and schedulable processing equipment.
The generator, ATS, low-voltage distribution, control power, fuel runtime and remote alarms must form one testable chain. A simulated outage should confirm not only generator start, but also end equipment, control parameters and notification paths.
