Site Issue: The Line Is Ready to Restart, but Safety Systems Have Not Been Verified
After a factory outage, production should not restart merely because power is available if fire protection, security, emergency lighting, ventilation or hazardous-area alarms remain unavailable. Safety loads do not increase output; they establish the minimum conditions for a safe restart.
Safety loads also require clear accountability and records: which circuits are covered by the ATS, whether tests are traceable, who receives alarms and whether spare parts and local service responsibilities are defined.
Configuration Review: Confirm That Safety Circuits Are Segregated and Testable
Confirm whether fire pumps, fire alarms, surveillance, access control, emergency lighting, ventilation and hazardous-area detection are independently zoned and supported by transfer-test records and site inspection checklists.

Why This Design: Safety Loads Need Priority and Clearly Defined Boundaries
Factory backup power should first support fire protection, security, emergency lighting, essential ventilation and critical alarms. Production loads can then return in stages according to process-continuity priorities. This prevents available generator capacity from being unusable because safety systems have not recovered.
The design should document ATS transfer, distribution labeling, inspection records, spare-parts packages and local service. If a safety system fails, the site must quickly determine whether the cause is the generator, ATS, distribution system or end equipment.
